Most of Our Equipment Is HSA/FSA Eligible
Most of Our Equipment Is HSA/FSA Eligible
Most of the gear we carry is eligible for HSA/FSA purchase with a Letter of Medical Necessity. Whether you personally qualify depends on the Truemed practitioner review and your HSA or FSA plan.*
Three Steps to Find Out If You Qualify
Answer the Health Survey
Complete a clinical intake form covering your health history and what you are trying to address.
Practitioner Review
An independent licensed practitioner reviews your form and issues a Letter of Medical Necessity if you qualify.
Pay With Your Card
Use your HSA or FSA card at checkout on qualifying items.
Not every cart takes the same path. Checkout adds the health survey only when your cart includes items that need a Letter of Medical Necessity. If every item in your cart is already pre-approved, there is no survey to complete.
Gear That Qualifies With a Letter of Medical Necessity
Most products in our catalog are eligible for HSA/FSA with a Truemed LMN when used to address a specific health condition.* Your own eligibility depends on the practitioner's review and your plan.

How Truemed Fits Into Your Order
Truemed connects shoppers with independent licensed practitioners who determine whether an item qualifies as a medical expense. Freedom Fitness Equipment does not review your health information and does not decide eligibility.

What Shoppers Ask Before They Check Out
Does everything on this site qualify?+
Most of our catalog is eligible with a Letter of Medical Necessity, though not every item is. Eligibility also depends on the letter issued for your situation and on your plan, so check at checkout rather than assuming.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?+
It is documentation from an independent licensed practitioner stating that a product is being used to treat or manage a specific health condition. Without one, most exercise equipment is not an eligible expense.
Who decides whether I qualify?+
An independent licensed practitioner reviews your clinical intake form and makes that determination. Neither Freedom Fitness Equipment nor Truemed can promise an outcome.
What if my cart has items that are not eligible?+
You can split the payment rather than placing two orders. Your HSA or FSA card covers up to the eligible total, and a regular credit or debit card covers the rest. If you end up paying for eligible items with a personal card, you may still be able to seek reimbursement later using your Letter of Medical Necessity.
Does this work on used and refurbished equipment?+
Start the health survey and check eligibility at checkout for the specific items in your order. Your Letter of Medical Necessity and your plan administrator determine what is covered.
When do FSA funds expire?+
Unused FSA funds may expire at the end of your plan year. Confirm your deadline with your plan administrator.
